Another Week that Was
highlighted by the Black Ferns winning the Womens Rugby World Cup by beating Engand 24-17 in Edmonton,Canada. Congratulations to all concerned !
No highlight but the Knights went down (yet again) 1-0 to a Terry Butcher led Sydney, that's three defeats on the bounce, so much for early season promise !
The week in mens rugby provided a couple of trouncings - Aucklands 48-7 victory over Otago and Tasmans 56-15 win over Northland , not to mention the first Thursday night game which saw Southland defeat Taranaki 20-17.
The rest of New Zealand enjoyed New Zealand Fashion week which saw top models turning out from around the world, well perhaps a few from Oz that were not otherwise booked and were over here anyway. Apparently it was a huge success and the reverberations will be felt around the fashion world at least as far as Christchurch.
In politics, what has now become the normal round of harping about the other parties moral failings continued and we all fell asleep .
And finally, just to show what fair minded people Kiwis are - the annual Marsden Fund (never heard of it before? neither had we) caused controversy this week by handing $6 million of its $38 million giveway to 9 of their own panelists. Any chance of getting us on next years panel ?

The Week that Was
spent by the papers reporting yet more parliamentarian mis-doings. Hot on the heels of the schoolyard fighting over who spent most of other peoples money on their various election campaigns, comes a new low in childish antics - Allegations about the private affairs (literally) of Mr Don Brash and Mr Helen Clark .Mmmm, is there not a country somewhere to run ?
Elsewhere, in the world of sport - the NZ Knights (shouldn't that really be Auckland Knights) lost 5-0 to the Queensland Roar in a return to last seasons form, or more correctly, a return to last seasons lack of form .
In the best of the Rugby - Wellington beat Canterbury 26-24 in front of 15,000 people and Auckland came from behind to draw 22-22 with Waikato.
Congratulations to the Black Ferns, who have made it to the Womens Rugby World Cup Final in Canada, where they will take on England, and commiserations to the New Zealand Wheelchair Rugby team that lost in the final of their world championship, 34-30 to the USA .
And to end this week, a special mention must go to Wanaka in their narrow attempt to fail to beat the worlds longest bra chain record currently held by Cyprus.Wanaka mustered a fine total of 8,485 bras . The world record ? A mere 114,782 . Better luck next time !

At onlyinnz we dont send flowers that often,
shame, i hear you cry and you would be quite right, however, should we have the need to (and the odd occasion does arrive from time to time ) we will be using 'Stems of Blockhouse Bay' located in Auckland.
The infectious enthusiasm of its owner Raewyn Singleton, means that rather like a meal prepared by Gordon Ramsay, ( Gordon who ? Oh you know, that good, verbal, sometimes angry, Scottish Chef from the TV ) you just know that anything ordered will be fresh, colourful and beautifully presented .
So if you are anything like us at onlyinnz perhaps it is time to change bad habits and show somebody that you care today by saying it with flowers .
'Yes i'm ordering them now Mum !'

Welcome to the onlyinnz review page ,
where you will find a mention of a lot of the things that we like (and a few that we dislike) about living in the 'Land of the Long White Cloud'.
